"This was book three of the series and wow. Aiden was a great character. So well written too. I'm a little undecided as to which guy would be considered a book boyfriend. Perhaps after reading the next one I'll know?
This book was told by Aiden's POV. Aiden is an artist, which I would have loved to hear more about his work. He comes across more gentle than the others too. Big guy with gentle hands. He's sweet throughout the book and finally towards the end of the, let's himself go with Misty.
Side note: I like that each guy in these books have their own personality and style. I'm really looking forward to the next book about Gareth."

- This is the third book I've read in this series and I'm totally loving this steamy, reverse harem set of stories. Misty is a young woman with a serious plate of troubles. Her step-father wants her dead so he can get his hands on a huge pile of money Misty inherited from her father. When she runs to New Orleans she meets Aiden in a hair salon one evening and he instantly realizes she's running from something due to her nervous behavior. He convinces her to go back to his place for the evening. She ends up meeting his roommates, Casey, Gareth and Andre. All four men are H-O-T hot! Misty shares with them her woes and they offer to let her stay in their compound permanently while they help her try to find her step-father who is a dirty cop. Casey is also a cop and he's working to solve the mystery of who is working with her step-father to kill her. Long story short, there is a dirty cop ring involved in dealing drugs. Misty knows too much and the leader of this ring will do anything to get to Misty. These four guys she's living with will do anything to keep her safe. All four end up falling for her and Misty develops feelings for each of them. Initially, they want her to choose one of them, but Misty can't. The time she spends with each of them causes her to fall in love with all of them. When they press on her to decide, she wants to run. So the guys pose a solution that won't make Misty choose. They offer to all date her and she agrees. Misty wants them all and she gets them. The men share her time, attention and body, which leads to some serious steam and lovemaking sessions that left me hot and bothered. At first I wanted her to choose, but with each story I read I see deeper feelings developing between Misty and each of them men, which is making me want to find out what happens to the five of them and if the group can work together to catch this murderous ring-leader terrorizing Misty.
These stories aren't your traditional romance kind of read. But if you find yourself curious about what a reverse harem story would be like, this is a good series to try. It isn't just all sex. There is a nice little mystery woven into the story too along with affection and respect between all of the characters. - I must confess that I started to read this series for the sex. Now I am reading it for the characters and the story. I love the way that each book is told from the point of view as of a different character so their individual personalities can be developed without others getting in the way. This does not prevent the story flowing forward and, other than a quick recap, nothing is repeated.
Parts of this book were unexpected, but still fit in with the storyline. There was one part of this book that I was not happy about. I was able to predict what was coming and didn’t want to keep reading, but I couldn’t stop myself. It was very sad. But also necessary.
My only concern with this series is how it is going to end. I have absolutely no idea how the author is going to end it in a satisfying way. I am looking forward to finding out.

I'm really looking forward to the next book about Gareth. - I am loving this series, this is the 3rd book in the author's 'Dangerous Chess' series & is told via Aiden's POV & focuses on events through his eyes. In this 3rd book the villain Rook & his Queen are growing more & more frustrated & angry they haven't been able to penetrate Andre's secure compound that protects Misty & her 4 Knights. And with this frustration & anger Rook & his Queen are becoming increasingly bold & dangerous.
I truly loved Aiden's book. The author does such a wonderful job fleshing Aiden out, how gentle & loving he is, not only of Misty but his beloved Granny & his lifelong friends. Aiden is in a way emotionally very fragile (IMO), he worries he isn't contributing in the search for their enemies, that his insecurities will cause dissension in the group dynamic & possibly drive Misty away. He's a big muscular tattoo artist & he adores his Granny, the woman who raised him, loved him, protected him & was PROUD of him.
The author presents Aiden as a gentle soul who has so much love & care to give to those he loves & cares for. He is concerned for their safety & their happiness. He appreciates their support & love. In short, Aiden is the type of person I'd like to know & I was concerned for his character & how things will pan out.
But then, Rook & his Queen make a potentially fatal error (IMO) that ignites rage in Aiden, his friends, Misty & a new player on their side.
The tension, suspense & danger have ratcheted up & the gauntlet thrown igniting the war between the two factions to a new & frightening level . . . .
IMO an excellent, extremely well written & well plotted book with superb engaging main characters. Highly recommended BUT it is also highly recommended you read the previous books to understand the characters, their dynamic, their backgrounds & the plot.
